Hey I want them increased for the Dragons Nest too - seeing as they nerfed it years ago so you only get 1 point for every person you beat "as long as they stay to the end". As they usually disappear after losing the first round or two, you get nothing most of the time for beating people.

come on - 2 wintersday festivals , cantha 2010 , upcomming birthday and dragon festival and i ask do we really need all the problems and lag again.
heck 100+ usa dists with 75% afk on 9 rings with pets out , traders in first 4 dists which become impossible to enter and you know they wont leave.
Now dont get me wrong i do like a festival but do we really need more as 3 festivals with boardwalk is enough as some of us want to be able to get on and play the game.
Also im sure a lot of players would actually complain that gw will be sinkwars as lucky/unlucky title seeking at festivals makes everyone taking part poorer - wonder how many ectos were sold last weekend just to finance tickets ?

Personally they need to start running these events a week at a time, seeing as the purpose of titles is for GW2 anyone who started in the last year in GW is gonna be hard pushed, they should run events a week at a time to allow people to get titles maxed out, espically as GW2 is most likely gonna be with us within the next year.

Please bring back Costume Brawl, I can see why the snowball game can only be in the winter and dragon arena with the dragon festival, but Costume Brawl is a nice and challeging minigame that has no bonds with a season/festival or anything else.
They do have to fix some skillbars again....

Yeah it does, if you read the description of the gamer event which happened in 2007 its basically Boardwalk, rbr and da, gamer and lucky/unlucky title points there to be won in one go.
Also Costume Brawl is far to synonymous with Halloween to be a solo gamer weekend, it simply isint worth it but the normal gamer event has everything rolled into one package (boardwalk, rbr and da), hence the original event would be pretty perfect for all concerned.

Just a hint pal, but the reason there's so much lag and problems is precisely BECAUSE everyone is trying to do the same thing at the same time, hence thousands of players and hundreds of districts with the problems you describe.
If the events were more frequent, or per my suggestion to just leave these games open ALL the time, there wouldn't be such a mad dash and congestion every time an event rolled around because people, both hardcore and casual, could play the games any time they wished.

The argument the devs have made in the past is that if the games were always available, people would lose interest. It's their restricted nature that keeps them (reasonably) fresh.
That said, I agree that a Gamer weekend in the fall would be nice. The time lapse between final practice runs and the Canthan New Year event is about seven months. That seems a little excessive. I finally had to start keeping notes so that I would remember when to do what.

lol....we just had a cny weekend and an entire WEEK of wintersday redux right before it. i srsly cant imagine ppl thinking that is not enough for their gamer titles alrdy.
as for lucky/unlucky titles...comon, how many yrs did people have for getting it, not to mention even more events comming up in april and in the summer
i mean, the fact that some1 can legitimately afk and max 2 titles is more than ridiculous alrdy. now people are not satisfied even with that to the extent taht they want to be able to do it all yr round? come on people, theres a limit to everything....

Right, because everyone who plays GW has been around for 5 years, and can afford to just let their computers sit idle with the game open.
Or have hundreds of hours of free time to dedicate to playing dodgeball.
This is a game, there doesn't have to be a limit. Why do people assume that we should only get "fun" bits in small little parcels? If people want to play Dragon Arena, why can they only do it a few times a year? The code is in place.
Also, I highly doubt that leaving a character to stand on a pad for 2000 hours is somehow considered "special" or "fun" for ANYONE. At most, its an exercise in frustration and boredom, and because ANet only does it very seldomly, you get hundreds of districts, random crashes and bugs etc. EVERY time the boardwalk is open, the server is constantly giving errors and kicking people.
If GW2 is coming out next year, and assuming that ANet still wants people to buy and play GW, hence injecting new blood into the game, then they have to take into account the fact that new players won't have had as much time to max titles as all the elitist jerks who are for exclusivity.
Leave the Boardwalk open all the time, year round. Leave one of the "dodgeball" games open, year round. And make it accessible to players who may not own Factions. The code is in place, people would enjoy it as a break from monster killing, and the lessened server strain would see less bugs occurring.
Its a win-win situation all around, I have no idea why there's any real resistance to it.

with the state of the game as it is they might as well make the games a permanent fixture of the cities. I think it would cut down on lag during the actual events and get some player base back. Look at how crowded the districts are for an event. Granted probably most are AFK but if they could do it any day of the week it might be different. I think it would help bring players back.
